There has been a message posted on the newsgroup concerning the correct way to submit assignments, please read before turning in assignment 0.
- January 25:
Assignment 1 posted on assignments page.
- February 6:
Please form groups of 3 students to perform the hands-on experiments. It
would be nice if at least one person in the group had worked with linux
before, but this is not a must. Once your group is formed, please have ONE
person from the group email the TA. In that e-mail please include the names of
all group members.
The TA will then reply to that email with your group password. You will then
want to change that password asap.
Please try to e-mail the TA by 5pm on Friday, Feb 9.
- February 12:
The TA's office hours have been moved one half hour earlier to 1:00-2:30pm on Mondays.
- February 13:
Assignment 3 posted on the assignments page.
- February 14:
* Nitin Vaidya's office hours today cancelled due to snow.
* Graduate students (NV4 section) preparing a survey for the project are granted
1 week extension without penalty.
* Test 1 is on March 1 (in class). See main page for the course for further details.
- February 15:
* A confirmed schedule for tests 1 and 2 is posted on the

* Test 1 will be open-book open-notes.
- February 17:
Clafications for Assignment 3: In question 3, you may assume n to be 100.
In question 2, note that the gain between Ni and Nj should
be estimated using the path loss modified above question 1.
Gain between Ri and Ni is given as 60 dB for each i.
The gain between Ri and Nj and i and j are not equal,
is same as gain between Ni and Nj.
- February 21:
* The lecture on February 22 (Thursday) will be taught by
Prof. Venu Veeravalli.

- February 24:
There will no be an assignment 4.2.
- February 27:
Nitin Vaidya's office hours on Wednesday, February 28,
have been rescheduled during 5:00-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27.

- March 5:

- March 7:
A lecture will be held on March 9 (Friday) at 4:00 p.m.
in room 241 Everitt Lab to make up for the missed lecture
on 1/23/07. If you cannot attend the lecture on March 9,
please contact the instructor to make alternate arrangement.

Assignment 6 is due on March 15, THURSDAY
(by class time).
- March 20:
Vaidya will not hold office hours
on Wednesday this week. If you need to meet him
during the Spring Break, please
schedule an appointment via e-mail.
- March 29:
Assignment #8 has been posted. It is due Thursday, April 5, in class.
- April 3:
Students who have not already collected
their Test 1 may collect it from the instructor.
- April 5:
Vaidya's office hours on Wednesday, April 11 have been changed to 9:30-11:00 that day. Note that Test 2 will be in class on April 12.- April 6:
TCP will not be included for Test 2.

- April 24:
Each group needs to send one member to pick up 3 sensor motes from the TA. Please see detailed note on newsgroup.
- April 25:
Guidelines for final project
report (for section NV4) are posted on the
project page. These
guidelines are same as those discussed in class previously.
- April 27:
Final examination will be held
during 1:30-3:30 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2007. The final examination will be comprehensive (all material covered in the course and associated required readings included). The final examination will be open-book open-notes. Bring a calculator to the final examination. The above final exam schedule is based on the UIUC non-combined final examination schedule for Spring 2007. If you have a conflict, please let the instructor know as soon as possible.
- May 7:
If anyone wants to see their grade on the final, they can stop by my office
anytime this week. The best time to stop by would prob be 3pm-6pm. We are
currently not putting these grades on Compass until the letter grades are
assigned. If you want me to email your grade, please send a request from
your UIUC account. Requests from all other emails will be ignored.
Also, please check all scores on Compass to verify them. Let us know if
anything is incorrect.
